Ooh, fantastic shot!

I really like how you've captured it by standing right in the centre. The way that the two sides form a barrier, almost, creates quite an interesting effect and impact.

The contrast in colours is great as well. The fact it's so very nearly pure and untouched on either side of the road adds some lovely depth, when contrasted with the road.

Even though with the snow, it should be cold, the colours of the sky lead us to believe it's otherwise. I like the warmth it exudes, in that sense. You could even go as far as saying that they're fighting a battle.

But, anyway, stopping all the interpretations and such, this is a great capture. The atmosphere is well conveyed with the colours and the positioning isn't bad too...

I would say it's a slight shame that more sky wasn't captured, but I'm typically a fan of sky over land.

I think, with subject matters such as these, when the road disappears off into the distance, it's best to shoot in portrait, but that's just me.
